Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Giveaway! {Giveaway Closed}

I’m a big fan of coconut oil for cooking, baking and using on my skin and hair so I was excited when Tropical Traditions asked me to try their fancy Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil.  It’s special because it’s unrefined and made from organic coconuts freshly harvested (within 24-48 hours) from small farms in the Philippines.

As soon as it arrived, I scooped out  some of the beautiful white, creamy oil to make a batch of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies that Joe pronounced “the best cookies I’d ever made,” a strong statement after the cookie making binge I went through before our wedding.  The cookies are so good and would be perfect for a Christmas cookie party if you’re not in the mood to roll out sugar cookie dough! They’re butter free, packed with chocolate chips and have a wonderful soft texture and subtle flavor from the coconut oil. The subtlety was one of my favorite things about the Tropical Traditions brand.  Unlike some brands I’ve tried, this one doesn’t hit you over the head with coconut and the creaminess is unrivaled.  Take a look:

In addition to being delicious baked into cookies, coconut oil has all kinds of health benefits.
Since the FDA does not want us to discuss the health benefits of coconut oil on a page where it is being sold or given away, here is the best website to read about the health benefits of coconut oil:

  1. I don’t currently use coconut oil but I’ve learned so much about it that I’d love to try it out. One of our favorite holiday traditions is seeing a local production of “A Christmas Carol”. It just isn’t Christmas until we do.

  2. I use coconut oil in my kitchen, in baking and frying. My favorite holiday traditions is St. Nicholas Day. We celebrate it on Dec. 6th.

    • I need to try frying with it! I was just reading about a family who celebrates St.Nicholas Day. Everyone gets a new pair of shoes with treats in them. Thanks for entering and happy cooking, Sally

  3. I use a dollop of coconut oil in our smoothies every morning. I also use it to moisturize my hands–no fancy recipe, just straight from the jar.

  4. I use coconut oil for my skin, oil pulling, my homemade toothpaste, cooking, dog scrapes and skin ailments. Our skin ailments as well. It’s one of the best products ever.
