This is a recipe for those days when you need some chocolate and not just any chocolate, a serious hit of in-your-face, indulgent, gooey chocolate. If you bake from time to time I bet you already have these ingredients on hand so all you need is a bowl and half an hour before you have this. Update: This has now been christened the Homer Bailey No-Hitter Ice Cream Sundae. To make: watch the Red’s Homer Bailey pitch a no-hitter, spoon some pudding into a bowl, cut half a banana on top, spoon on some vanilla ice cream and enjoy – Go Reds!
What to buy:
- 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
What to do:
- preheat the oven to 350
- melt 2 sticks of butter in a 13 by 9 inch baking dish
- combine the eggs, vanilla and sugar in a bowl, mixing until light yellow in color
- add flour and cocoa powder to egg mixture and whisk together until blended
- pour melted butter from baking dish into pudding mixture and mix until combined
- bake for 15-20 minutes making sure the center seems very under-baked – still wiggly
- allow to cool slightly before serving with ice cream
